Who is responsible

What we collect

• Account details: your email address and, if you give it, your name and phone number.
• Listing details: the property information, photos and video you submit, plus the private contact details you give us for that property.
• Enquiries: your name, phone number, optional email, your message and any preferred viewing time, together with your consent to be contacted about it.
• Payment evidence: for sale adverts, the receipt image or PDF and transaction reference you upload.
• Technical data: a one-way scrambled form of your network address, used only to limit abuse of our public forms. We do not store your full address and we cannot reverse it.

What is public and what is not

Published adverts show the property details, approved photos and the area. They never show the advertiser's name, phone number, email, exact private address or account information. Roommate requests show only a display name, area, budget, move-in date and introduction. Drafts, pending adverts, private media, payment receipts and our internal notes are not public.

Why we use it

• To publish and review adverts.
• To pass enquiries to the right person and arrange viewings.
• To check a listing-fee payment.
• To answer you, and to keep a record of what was agreed.
• To prevent abuse of our forms and to investigate reports.

We do not sell your information, and we do not use it for advertising networks or unnecessary tracking. This site does not run analytics or advertising trackers, which is why you do not see a cookie banner.

Who can see it

You can see your own account, adverts, media, payment evidence and enquiries. Gharamaan's admin team can see submitted adverts, private owner contacts, payment evidence, enquiries and reports in order to run the service. Other users cannot see your private data. Access is enforced by our backend, not only by hiding things in the interface.

Service providers

Our website, database, file storage and sign-in are provided by our hosting and backend provider, which stores this data on our behalf. If and when we configure an email service, it will process the emails we send you. We will not add other processors without updating this page.

How long we keep it

We keep account and listing records while your account is active, and enquiry and payment records for as long as we need them to run and account for the service. We have not fixed a specific retention period yet; rather than state one we cannot keep to, we will publish it here once it is decided. You can ask us to delete your data at any time and we will do so unless we are required to keep a record.

Your choices

• Ask us for a copy of what we hold about you.
• Ask us to correct anything that is wrong.
• Ask us to delete your account, your adverts or an enquiry.
• Withdraw your consent to be contacted about an enquiry.

Keeping it safe

Private files are stored in non-public storage and are only reachable through short-lived links that we generate for you or for our review team. Passwords are handled by our sign-in provider, and we never see them.
